Good evening Band Families!
The band had an awesome start to the marching season this weekend at the Monarch Festival, placing 2nd in the 5A class with a score of 69! I am so proud of all the students and staff that are working so hard and I can't wait to see how they progress through the season! A huge thank you to all the parents and others who volunteered this weekend, these festivals take a team to ensure the band is set and ready to play, so thank you so much for supporting these amazing students!
This week is Homecoming week, which means no competition this week, however, the band will be attending the football game on Friday. Here is this week's schedule:
Tuesday the 20th: Rehearsal from 5:30-8:30pm
Wednesday the 21st: After school sectionals
Friday the 23rd: Homecoming football game, students will be fed dinner after rehearsal and before going to the game. Please make sure your student has their marching shoes, black socks, show shirt, and water bottle (this is important to remember, we are trying to get away from using single use plastic water bottles, instead we bring jugs of water for students to fill up their water bottles.)
Reminder that the Freddy's restaurant night on Wednesday September 28th from 4-8pm at Freddy's 14255 Lincoln St. Thornton, the flier is attached, you need to mention you are there for Horizon Band or show the flier, this will benefit the general fund.
The coffee fundraiser is still going on, this fundraiser benefits the student accounts, this is a great fundraiser, there is coffee, tea, and hot chocolate to choose from. You will need to set up an account and then you can send the information out to all your coffee loving loved ones.
Hi Everyone, It's been a few days since our official start and just wanted to make sure you got your seller# and can take some time to contact local friends and neighbors about Giving Bean. Be confident that these products are excellent, AND know we'll be making 40%, so let's go:) Send an appeal asking folks to buy their next coffee and tea from Giving Bean. Here is the order form.
