We are going to CBA State Quarterfinals!
Dear Students and Parents –
We have reached our goal for the 2016 season by qualifying for the CBA State Quarterfinals and we are in 12th place! All competitions and rehearsals have led to this point, and I am so proud of the Marching hawks for accomplishing this goal. The next step is upon us, and I’m looking forward to the band’s performance at CBA Quarterfinals and possibly Semifinals! #finishstrong
Parents, I hope you will plan to attend this competition and cheer for us. We want to hear many HHS parents as we take the field for performance. I know the competition is on a normal workday, but it is a very special day for your band students. It will be worth the drive and time to see your bandie performing at CBA State Quarterfinals. You must enter the US Air Force Academy grounds through the North Entrance (Exit 156 off of I-25) and provide a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and vehicle registration. Itinerary
8:00 a.m. Call time @ HHS
Rehearsal until 10:00 a.m. Regroup, Prepare for drive.
10:45 Load buses. Wear Show shirt, black shorts, long black socks, marching shoes
11:15 Depart HHS for Colorado Springs– USAFA Falcon Stadium
12:45 p.m. Arrive @ USAFA Falcon Stadium
Change into uniforms, Unload equipment
2:15 – 2:45 p.m. Body Warm-Up (E) Color Guard in warm-up “C” @ 2:15 p.m.
3:00 – 3:30 p.m. Music Warm-Up (A)
3:40 p.m. Full Band On Deck
3:45 p.m. Perform 2016 Show “Accelerate”
4:00 p.m. Take pictures, change, watch other bands. Bands sit in stadium stands
5:20 p.m. 5A Awards
**If we are in the top 6 of Quarters, we will proceed to Semifinals on Saturday 10/29. Itinerary TBD with call time at approx. 7 a.m.
6:00 p.m. Depart for HHS
7:30 – 8:00 p.m. Arrive at HHS (arrival time depends on the traffic)
What to Bring:
Extra snacks and water in backpack
Money for CBA souvenirs, if you want something.
Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, jacket/hoodie
Smiles, Hawk Pride, Hawk Love, Focus, and Concentration
